I am in no way affiliated with any of those.

Bruce: ???? WTF, the guy is asking for advice. Valid question for anyone here to answer if they have had experience with any products he may consider.

Original poster: Hoses, fender, molding, etc, OEM parts.

High shipping, wholesale prices. Not bad if you don't have dealer connections like some of us.

I'm not one for modding a car to that extent. Most of those aftermarket "performance mods" like MSD and whatnot are more trouble than the actual "gains" you get from using them.

I keep my GM car all GM---that's what made it great in the first place :).

The 97 should have the opti-spark:

If it does, ignitions don't get much better than that!

that's what the first Mallory and Accel distributors were. Only difference is that: GM just made them more dependable. Now if they could make the water pump as dependable, the opti-spark would be a 25,000 mile or more distributor. Because when most shops replace them, I've been getting away with cleaning the optical cell and the plate.

I'm sure MSD makes a box, but Gm also makes a high output box that you see most people using with the 502 and 572 with EFI, so I'm sure that's adaptable.

Joe, please advise if so?

In the end, GM made the cars outperform all the other junk, so why change what was the best from the factory?

I want to find a way to adapt the opti-spark to an older block. I'm sure I can, but time constraints prohibit even taking a leak unless my teeth itch now days.

Just seemed like he wanted to just collect information without doing any research. Maybe I was in a bad mood. Damn PMS.

See a GM dealer and ask to see their performance parts catalog for RK is talking about. Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 26k orig. Jegs or Summit

Any GM parts counter for the above.
