Trans Am plaque

My 2000 Trans Am Firehawk has a plaque on the rear, between the two tail light assemblies, with "Trans Am" on it, as well as the firechicken logo. As with many cars, this has become faded and worn.

I went to the Pontiac dealer, and they said there is no decal replacement from GM. To fix it, they want to me pay $120 for a new plaque, plus installation.

Is there a cost-effective solution for my problem? Say, the ability to buy the decal somewhere? If so, how do people recommend removing whats left of the original decal?

Thanks!

I always hated the fact that the Formula and the Firehawk in the late

4th Gens. didn't have their own plaque. I say carefully strip off the rest of the decal, buff it, and be happy with a sleeper that makes people wonder what the heck you're driving.

... Or check on e-bay motors. Pretty much everything shows up there.

There might not be a decal replacement from GM, but that doesn't mean that others haven't made them:

I did this with a different overlay in white (to match the paint) and it made a huge difference.
