96 Explorer code 1150 and 0174 ?? HELP!

Was out on a road trip and the MIL came on on my 96 XLT (V8). Also I noticed that it idles rough now, which I assume is related.

Scanned the computer and came up with 1150 Lack of H02S21 Switch Adaptive fuel at limit. AND 0174 Bank 2 lean.

This happened shortly after filling up at a cheapo gas station, so I'm wondering if it could be caused by bad fuel. ?? I cleaned the MAF and throttle body and replaced the fuel filter since it was overdue anyway !

Not sure where to go with it, but I thought I would tank up with some known quality gas, and run it a while to see what happens...

Any thoughts ?

thanks.

The codes indicate hat the PCM can no longer control the fuel mixture to the left bank of cylinders. Now it is time to check the fuel trims on the right bank of the motor and see if they are being driven lean as well. The PCM can add about 25% more fuel to overcome running problems... once long term fuel trim reachs 25% (works both ways... adding fuel or removing fuel) the PCM cannot correct the mixture any more and sets the MIL and codes. So, we need to check the right bank to see if we are approaching adaptive limits and we can then base our diagnostic strategy on whether we are looking at a whole motor problem or a bank problem.

If the right bank is struggling with lean mixtures, I would probably test fuel pressure..... the correct way being to check it at speed under load.

HTH....
