Any problems if I disconnect the electrical wiring to my control trac?

My control trac 4wd on my 97 was acting up and by pulling #27 fuse to disable the 4wd, the int lights/pwr windows were also disabled. So I went ahead and just pulled the large plug that goes to the transfer case, is this hurting anything if I do this indefinitely? My 4wd lights blink, which I don't mind, I assume its going straight into error mode which I feel is better then letting the car lock the front wheels together in turns a few times before it goes to error mode. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

I recently bought a '97 with control trac so I'm interested even though I don't have a problem with mine (yet). I have read that worn or mismatched tires can cause the sensors to think some tires are slipping and activate the control trac. Is yours going into 4WD when you don't want/need it to?
