Center console needed for Explorer

1991 Explorer --- Replacing the front bench seat with single seats, so I need a center console. Does anyone know where I can find them, including after-market consoles?

Get a 93-94 console, the 91-92's kinda sucks (only one cupholder). You need to find a junkyard... or wherever you got those seats ;)

I see complete consoles on ebay every now and then...

Get on the Internet and search the online salvage yards or look locally for the beast. Make sure that they have the modified console with the reinforced armrest hinge, otherwise, another $30-45 from the nearest Ford dealership near you. To cut the old hinge pin out takes skill with a Dremel tool. I just had the dealer do it. He screwed it up and had to buy a new one gratis.

My 92 has a cupholder .....a two holer. Perfectly fine for two cups, cans, etc.

My 92 (an early build) had one cup holder. They must have changed mid-year.

If the covering is cracked and/or is tearing, then you can buy a replacement cover from

I did it with the prairie tan replacement kit and it was a perfect match. The Ford dealer wanted over $100 for a replacement!

Mine broke. :-(
