Where is steering stabilizer on 99?

I am going to change the shocks myself soon on my 99 XLT. Monroe's website, as well as other auto parts websites, list a steering stabilizer, but I can't find it anywhere in the front of my truck. Can someone point me in the right direction?

By the way, I forgot to add that Auto Barn quoted me a sale price of $31.99 for each Monroe Sensa Trac shocks. Does that sound good?

There isn't one.

But if if you have a four door, there is a lateral shock mounted the the frame and rear axle, to help control lateral movement relative to the rear axle and frame.

Yes, that's a good price. I installed Monroe sensa tracs on my 97 a few months ago. Install is very easy and you will be amazed at the difference in the ride... the stock ford shocks could be compressed with one hand. One suggestion, the rears have a tie holding them compressed so first go ahead and slide the bolt through the lower shock support, then aim the shock up toward the top support location. Next cut the tie and it will uncompress right up to the proper location. (rather than wrestling with it) Also removing the spare tire will make it easier. As for the front just turn the wheel all the way to stop and remove part of the wheel well which just pulls off by hand.. I did not remove any wheels, except for the spare. I was quoted $400 installed for the sensa tracs, did it myself for under $ 150 Good Luck, Joe

I found the stabilizer. Its on the passengers side rear axle. I don't know when it has to be changed but I'll look into it. Thanks for the installation tips. I did them last night. The drivers side rear was the pain because even when the spare is removed, there is some kind of guard plate in the way for the fuel system. Although I could have removed it, I managed to get the shock installed. But the ride is smooth now. Hard to believe that the shocks were gone aftrer only 40K.
