91 t-bird auto trans

A little piston or plunger and an o-ring was in the bottom of the auto trans oilpan. No other hardware (springs, retainers, etc) were in the pan. The
plunger and o-ring was found before removing the filter. What are they and where did they come from? Any help?

And it might also mean that since they are still there no one has ever dropped the pan and changed the filter before you got there. Steve

Nice point. Let's see, that would be about 14 years with the same filter. Wonder if the ATF is original?!! nico
