'95 Mystique - how to pop hood ???

anybody know how to pop the front hood if driver compartment gizmo don't work ???

Well im not familar with this car exactly, but there are a couple ways to try it. 1st (i am assumeing it is a manual pull, not an electric button) hold the caseing of the wire and pull on the wire. if that doesnt work, you are gonna have to silde something under the hood and manually unlach the hood (which will be a pain in the @$$)

You can't reach the cable from under the car. The only way I ever found to access the cable or latch on a Contour\Mystique was to cut out a section of the plastic grille to the left of the grille emblem (to the right on the outside of the car)and slice open the cable near the latch. You then pull the cable to release the hood. The cable seems to break about midway between the handle and latch. IIRC you can cut a small section out on both sides of the emblem and unbolt the entire latch, but I can't be positive. Look close with a flashlight. If this seems extreme, remember: The inside hood release is a theft deterrent.If it was easy for you, it would be easier for a thief.
