Airbag light Ford Explorer

Hi: I have a '96 Ford Explorer with an airbag light that flashes 4 times,4 times....etc. After 6 sets of 4 flashes it goes solid and stays solid until she shuts off.
Does that mean something like a code?? Any help would be Greatly appreciated! Thanks!! Ralph Ralph

Ralph Ralph, Yes it is a code. And the code meaning can be found by doing a net search or getting the correct manual.

Probably around $300 to fix an airbag switch in the steering column. Go to the library and check out Chiltons for the code meaning.
