any takers....

hi all,

does anybody here know if the 2006 ford fusion requires a special tool to compress the caliper pistons back in when changing the breaks?

also what type/size are the caliper bolts.

i have been searching on the internet and haven't found much information. haynes repair manuals don't have one yet, they base their books on demand.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

sincerely,

There's a "universal" tool that does this that any auto parts store will sell you.

Of course you can do it the cheap way with a pair of channel lock pliers but the tool is cheap and a hell of a lot easier to use, it also doesen't jig the pistons sideways and possibly tear up the rubber seal.
