A network of 73 police-based Victim Service Programs operating 105 victim service units (VSUs) has been established . All municipal police services and most RCMP detachments have a VSU. Victims are referred after initial police contact. Victims and witnesses associated with cases where charges are laid are provided a full range of court support services.
