The F150 is still the number one selling pick-up. Clearly fewer people want pick-ups, but that doesn't mean F150s aren't the trucks that people who still want trucks want. As for me, I've never much cared for the current style F150. I strongly dislike the high bed sides and the truck is a little too Chevy-like for my tastes. It is my opinion that like most half ton trucks these days, the F150 is too car like for a work truck. I don't expect that to change with the 2009 F150s.

It says that Ford delivers trucks that people want and need, not want and don't need. Fewer people who don't really need them are buying them.

That's the difference between last year and this year.

Fleets are buying Ford trucks, retail deliveries are down not fleet sales. Fleets need trucks to operate their business.
