I am about to replace a worn distributor in my Ford Probe '97. What kind of grease (if any) do I need to put on the gear/shaft of the new one that goes into the engine ?

I am about to replace a worn distributor in my Ford Probe '97. What kind of grease (if any) do I need to put on the gear/shaft of the new one that goes into the engine ?
if the gear is internally located (inside engine and is lubed by the engine oil), engine oil on the gear would be a safe bet.
