INSTALLING HOLLEY(2BBL) ON1978 FORD E-150 351W -2V

I NEED ANY TIPS FOR THIS INSTALLATION. SUCH AS; DO I ELIMINATE THE CARB SPACER THAT HAS THE EGR VALVE IN IT? IM GUESSING THIS HOLLEY WAS"NT MEANT TO BE RUN WITH ANY SMOG DA! BUT HOWS THIS STOCK 351W-2V GOING TO RUN WITHOUT AN EGR? THE STOCK CARB RELYS HEAVILY ON THE EGR SYSTEM. RIGHT NOW MY EGR IS "BAD" THATS ONE OF THE REASONS FOR THE NEW CARB! A NEW EGR FOR THIS IS $70.00. MY NEW HOLLEY IS A 4412C (500 CFM)

Yes the EGR should be your main concern. If the new carb is a non EGR unit, you should do away with the EGR system. The engine should run fine with the non EGR carb if it is calibrated correctly (somewhat richer in the power mode to prevent detonation) but mpg and emissions will suffer. Plan on messing with the ignition advance too. If there was nothing wrong with the original carb the best thing to do would be to revamp the EGR system. Surely a new EGR valve cost less than a new carb! EGR induced detonation will definately f*ck up a 351 Windsor. Be carefull.
