You need to let it idle for a few minutes to "relearn" the idle too. Then drive it moderately for a while. This lets it recalibrate it's compensation most quickly.

It does need to "re-learn" compensation. Until this happens the engine won't be running the best it can, or exactly the way it will once this is done. For that reason I would think you might have at least slightly different emissions numbers.
