Service Engine Soon Light

What are some of the possible causes of the Service Engine Soon light indicator to stay on in a Ford Expedition that has 71,000 miles on it. Any info would be appreciated.

There are *many* causes, too many to list here.

There is no need to guess why the light is on, the car's computer will output one or more trouble codes[1] to a piece of diagnostic equipment, which will help a technician diagnose the root cause of the problem.

[1] The computer also outputs a huge amount of data in real time, showing the operating parameter of the engine control system, which further helps a qualified technician to diagnose and fix whatever is wrong with the powertrain.

I think the truck's emissions warranty goes to 80,000 mi. This should be covered by it. Read your emissions warranty. If it goes to 80,000 mi, you are covered.

How many angels can dance on yhe head of a pin? Same number as your question. It couls be anything from a misfire to a bad sensor to the sky is falling. Take it in to a shop and let them break out the code reader.
