Tires for a Contour

I need to replace my Goodyear Eagle GT's. Costco has BFGoodrich Traction T/A's at about $84 a tire. Does anyone have recommendations for this?

The car is a 97 contour with 15" tires.

Go to tirerack.com and read the reviews.

What part of the country, and what kind of driving? I have Kumho Ecsta's 205/65-15 on my 99Taurus here in NE Ohio and love 'em. Great traction, nice ride and cheap. Beats the heck out of the factory Generals in every way except tread life. No good having long wearing tires if they are so hard they slide around!

If you have 15" rims on a Contour, , you're probly into a 60 or 55 series tire, right? 205/60-15 ?

In that size, tirerack has the Ecsta's for $55 and Goodyear Eagle ResponseEdge for $76 with $40 rebate on 4.

I suggest ordering from tirerack and using one of their recommended installers. Or buy at Costco, but take them elsewhere to install. I wouldn't let Costco (or Sam's, Wal-Mart, etc) install tires on any car, except maybe in a contingency. Took a lot of years to learn that tho!
