TPS 98 Taurus

Is there a trick to loosening the screws that hold the TPS onto my 89 3.0L DOH V6? The screw heads/slots appear to be very soft and easily damaged.

The screws have lock thread lock on them. Engage the screw driver as if you are going to remove the screw ( just don't turn it yet ). Then heat up the shaft of the screw driver, the heat will transfer to the fastener and soften the thread lock, the screw will then turn out easily.

Use an impact screwdriver or you will destroy the screw head. Use a new screw
when you reassemble.
