Drive shaft

The clutch failed on my daughter's Focus at 72K. It was replaced but now the car has a steering wobble. The garage says a drive shaft has failed. Do the shafts have to be removed to change the clutch and could the garage
have got it wrong? Is this a likely answer? TIA
