engine noise 2003 focus

hello folks, i have recently bought a pre-owned ford focus automatic 2003 SE sports.

I have noticed that when the rpm goes beyond 2000 or car speed beyond

80 KM/H engine makes some weird whirring noise at a regualr interval. Engine sounds like stressed out and feels running bit heavy when it makes such noise.

this really frustrates when driving on highway. The car has 32000 kms on it so it is fairly new. anyone has any idea what causes the problem and any solution to fix it (with of course probale cost)? thanks in advance

Is it the air conditioning compressor cycling on and off. The faster you go the frequently it will cycle and they do cause a load especially noticed with small engines

hi, thanks for the reply.. not sure about the air conditioning compressor..but i have noticed one thing that a/c doesn't seem to be working properly..i mean it takes times to supply cold air and in couple of front vents out of four i don't get nice AC cool air. It feels like i am getting regular cold air from a fan instead of an AC from those two vents..not sure if the humming noise at high speed is associated with AC problem.
