Ford Value Service

Hi,
Ford are doing an offer of a value service for 99gbp with a 40 quid Marks and Spencer voucher into the bargain. Does anyone know whats included in a value service?
I have my focus booked in with a local, non-ford, garage for a service for 120gbp tomorrow. Does that sound reasonable?

It all depends. What are they doing for this service? Oil change and check the brake pads, then it isnt a good deal at all. Oil,spark plugs, air filter and other ancillaries included, then it seems OK. For 99ukp, I'd expect the Ford service to be a 1 hour job, so oil, and check over other things, then charge you extra for any parts used/needed. You've got to find out what they are doing before knowing if the prices are reasonable. Alan.

Thanks for the reminder. I got the wife's car serviced on that deal in early December and am still waiting for the voucher. I feel an e-mail to Ford coming on (the voucher's are sent direct from Ford, not the garage).

So what was actually included in the 99gbp service?
The 120gbp was a misquote - it was actually 90 pounds in the end. A good deal you might think apart from I am not taking my car back to this guy ever again. He seemed nice enough - told me that my spark plugs were in really good condition and didnt need replacing so gave me ten pounds off so I only ended up paying 80 pounds. I opened the bonnet when I got home to find that the battery cover was lose - not clipped into place in anyway. I also found a bolt that was lose and just sitting on its own. I think found the hole where it goes. Right near the bottom of the car , drivers side. It looks like some sort of earthing point but there are no wires there. There is no nut to this bolt so I am certain thats come off on the ride home. Now I am just worried where it came from and if its ok not to have it there. Any ideas anyone?
So when I think about it, I have paid 80 pounds for an oil change and filter and an air filter (I still have to check I actually have new filters)... hmmmmm. He said the brakes needed a fluid replacement. 40 quid - bring it back next week. Don't think I will.

The offer was for the normal scheduled 40K service on the car i.e. to Ford's official recommendations.
