Heating/Ventilation

I just bought a used Focus, 2004. I don't think the air can be recirculated. As a result I find the heater to be very weak.

Is mine defective or is this the case with others?

Air in 2001 focus can be recirculated using recirculation button...

I don't know about yours but I have had a lot of problems with mine it is fogging the windshield in the autumn and it is heating in the summer despite turned on cold. (car is without AC) Some people from colder climates says also that focus also have weak heater....

To all of the contributors, and the original poster- change your pollen filter, and ensure the cover is properly resecured with fresh silicone under the lid where it seals against the windscreen.

Hi, I live in north Sweden and have a 2 litre, year ´00 Focus, and experience some cold weather every year. I'd say the vent system is more of a problem than the heater capacity itself. When directing the heat to the face outlets in the dashboard, the heat seems to be aplenty, almost possible to heat a sauna, but, that way the windows fog up since no air can be directed to the defrost vents at the same time. (Many other cars have small cutouts in the flaps to the defrost ducts for this.) When directing the heated air to the windscreen and feet, most of the heat seems to be lost somewhere in the ducts under the dashboard! Is it directed through any ducts of sheet metal exposed to outside air? During winter I see few cars as fogged up as my Focus. /per
