Keyless Entry Module Antenna

Hi...

I have a 2000 Ford Focus ZTS and the range of the keyless entry is pretty bad... any idea where the keyless entry module antenna is located in the US version of 2000 Focus ZTS?

Thanks

Any confirmation of that? I got my windshield replaced and there weren't any wires or such.

Its not a particularly good idea to be able to open the car from 50+ yds away anyway. It is not unknow for BAD people to watch for this and either rob the contents or grab the key code.

I heard(not sure if it is true) that with those watches that you can use as a remote control, they can "catch" the frequency and they can use it to open your car.

The closer you are to your car , the less change they have to do that.

not true, the code changes every operation of the locking system, known as rolling code here in the uk

Folks were not talking criminal mastermind car thief defense here... all I'm asking if where the antenna is for the keyless entry (if anyone really knows and isn't guessing... I could guess too) And if you people must know before I can get a straight answer I live in a 2 story building... the driveway is right by my room... I cannot remote start my car from my room I have to go to a window and do it... I don't think 5 feet is the normal operating distance of the keyless entry system... perhaps the antenna wire is misrouted or is folded somewhere... anyway all I am asking is does anyone know where the damn thing is???

Yes I know I'm ranting but I just got my computer on after 26 hours of no power with temperatures in the high 90's.

smartass ...seriously they still don't know what caused the MASSIVE blackout so please treat him a little more tenderly. Just glad they're getting their power back as I work for toll-free directory and it was busy as all get out Thursday and Friday. Canada and the US were involved - upwards of 10 million people at least I heard...But as far as range of the key I've been told several things and that the best thing was to aim it at the radio antenna to open it...personally I haven't figured it out either. Now, THAT'S funny! : )

Brits and Canadians know, equally well, about taking fire from supposed "friends".

I gave you my best shot. Others have too. You're a Type A sort of guy, aren't you?

Yup, Type A.

I've discovered that some of the good folks at Ford have a basic sort of understanding of this vehicle. Have you posed this question to any of them? : )

You must be a real bundle of laughs after a long weekend in the Hamptons

BTW, it's hotter where I am. Doesn't that make you feel better?

Thank You Vince!!!

That's exactly what I wanted to know... I asked a question... the person that actually knows the answer, answered it. What a concept.

Thank you again
