Re: UK 1.8 Zetec electronics go haywire....All ok.

Just back after 700 miles up and down UK over the weekend and all is well, no problems at all, running as sweet as a button and the remote control key fob is also working 100+ACU-. Thanks to all who helped with diagnosis, hopefully all has rebooted itself. Just short of 40k UK Miles on the clock now. Great car, great journey, just got out after long blast on motorway and feel great - such a great car to drive and own. Justin ps Serves me right for thinking about replacing it..........................it must have known...........

+AD4- Let us know how you got on when u get back+ACE- +AD4- +AD4- MC. +AD4- +AD4- --------- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- Thanks to everyone who gave me some pointers in solving this. The problem +AD4- +AD4- has not re-occurred since my last post and lo and behold, the central +AD4- +AD4- locking remote operation is working normally. The car drives just the same +AD4- +AD4- as always and I am doing a 600 mile round trip over Easter so am hoping +AD4- all +AD4- +AD4- is well. If you hear nothing from me about this, it is all ok. Still +AD4- feeling +AD4- +AD4- a bit apprehensive that it will stop again,....... +AD4- +AD4- Thanks again for all the advice +AD4- +AD4- Justin +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- My other half has a 1.8 Zetec I have a Mk3 Tdi Golf. I'm posting a +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- reply about my golf. I was having ECU problems and turbo boost related +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- problems. In an attempt with my limited mechanical knowledge I simply +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- disconnected the battery, counted to 10 and reconnected it. +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- Lo and behold problems sorted. I guess the ECU just need a reboot, so +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- to speak. +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- I realise that my problem wasn't Ford related, but my solution might +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- help solve yours. +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- Dave +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- -- +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- This is an automatic signature of MesNews. +AD4- +AD4- +AD4- Site :
