Several times while driving the speedometer of my 2001 focus has spun back to zero, the radio volume drops, and the digital odometer goes blank. It's been to the shop twice and haven't been able to figure it out. Anyone experienced this or have any ideas? Thanks

You have a faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor, a common Focus problem discussed here regularly.
Refer to the topic higher up "Vehicle Speed Sensor".
From memory, this intermittent fault is caused by a poor connection to the sensor. The sensor is mounted low down on the transmission so gets wet and dirty. Current sensors are of a modified pattern to prevent the fault reoccuring. The sensor is quite difficult to access so it is probably not worth trying to remove it to clean up the connection.
My own car is doing this, let the group know if you solve it.....
