5.0L E150 van spark plug change

Anybody offer any hints/advice on this job? It's a 92 E150 van.

Ford dealership wants $200+ for the job. I think I can DIY for less.

Thanks in advance.

Pull the doghouse (engine cover) out from inside. It's not hard to do, just a little extra work.

I don't know about the Ford van, but the secret on the GM Astro/Safari vans is to pull the front wheels off and go in through the wheelwells. (You have to pull back or remove the splash shield.) Might take a look.

When I had my van I had the dealer do it. Major PITA to get to some of those plugs, even with the engine cowl off.

Ack, wish I figured that out when I had my Safari years ago...managed to break one of the new plugs trying to get them in.

Yeah, it makes for easy plug changes but I've yet to figure an easy way to change the wires. The little clips GM uses to hold the wires secure are in places only a monkey can reach....
