My 4x4 truck 93 F-150 6cyl. hesitates momentarily when I step on the gas hard. Is this normal? I just bought it used and everything is in excellent shape. Thanks

No, that's not normal. My 4x2, manual transmission, accelerates just fine.
I just ran across this, maybe it would help you? "Hesitation/Surge-Light Acceleration 4.9L Engine Bulletin"

My '92 4.9L did the same thing. I found a TSB that addressed the problem. It stated that the throttle body gasket was leaking and gave a p/n for a revised gasket. ( Ford p/n F5TZ-93936-BA) Sure enough, when I pulled the throttle body off I found the gasket sucked in on one side.

Yep same here. I lived with that hesitation for many years. The new throttle body gasket fixed it.
