94 F150 engine dies when the lights are turned on

I have a 94 F-150 that tends to die after the truck has warmed up and the headlights are on. If the parking lights are on the truck does not die. It is as if you turned the ignition off. At first it would only die if you made a hard right turn, left turns would have no effect.

It sounds like the lights are draining enough energy from the ignition system to make the thing shut down. Have you checked the battery and alternator? I remember a really old truck that had a fuseable link that was keeping the battery from charging because it was burned, but this was a 1955 or something and the amp meter would never show a charge

Of course if it dies when you turn, the load of the steering might be enough to shut it down, do you know if you are running the normal idle speed.

Clark Not a mechanic, just guessing.
