I'm using mobil 1 5w-30. I'd avoid using any pyramid scheme oil such as Amsoil.

Not the 5.4, but the 6.8 Triton. Mobil1 5W-30 since the 1st oil change and changes at about 3,000 miles. Just ticked off 73k on the odometer. No problems at all.

As for Amsoil.. I know a few people who swear by it, but after hearing some of the bullshit stories people (Last Church Mikey being the largest purveyor of Amsoil bullshit) have posted regarding it's performance, I'd never use it.

SS, I use Mobil1 10W30 in everything that's gas here and oil's changed every 4500 mis. The only 5.4 was a '01 Lightning (chip/pulley)...no problems. I've never used Amsoil nor will I.

Used Mobil 1 5w30 until the 5w20 came out recently, which I used in last oil change. Seemed to get about a 1-2 mpg increase in fuel mileage but long term is yet to be determined. 6.8L V10.

I've been running Amsoil in both of my vehicles and never have had a problem.

Do these items see the constant use that a Truck does?

No offense, and none intended.

I have never seen any of the following self destruct based upon the oil chosen for their use.
