Billet Grill Input?

Hey Folks, My hubby wants a billet grille for his 99 F250 (4x4, diesel, extended cab) for Christmas.

I have been searching Ebay for one and am a bit confused with what I have found. I am not interested in one that is an overlay. I have seen some on trucks that have an oval opening that frames the blue. That's the style I am after.

Any advice from those of you that have them on Brands? Sellers? Prices? Installation?

Thanks!

Kate

98 Cobra Drop Top With a personal touch... or two.

PS: OH! Any input on full length tubular steps?

Kate, You can get a stull, stillen or other full billet grill and still use the Ford emblem mounted in the same place. Its only held on with 2 washer style nuts to the grill anyways. Its close getting them screwed onto new grill since the studs are short but can be done The style you are looking for is usually an overlay grill with a opening for the Ford emblem to stick through from the factory grill. My neighbor went this route, I went with a stull grill myself. We both bought ours at Summit.

Mine doesn't have the "opening" but I was able to remove the blue oval emblem from my OEM grill and bolt it to the billet grille really easily.

I *think* mine is a Stull. It was a couple years ago so I'm not entirely sure.

Got mine at 4 Wheel Parts (4wheelparts.com) but pretty much any accessory shop will have 'em. Try performanceproducts.com as well. They have bolt on shell/billet grilles that would make installation easy. (see below)

Mine was about $180.

Pain in the ass. I had to literally cut the center out of my factory shell and then do a lot of test fitting to get it all to fit just right. It took me about 5 hours start to finish. The billet part bolts right to the truck. The shell was the time consuming part. I used my Dremel and a couple cut off wheels to do the major trimming and then a selection of files and grinding wheels to finish it off. The OEm shell fits very tight to the billet grille, but it took quite a lot of patience to get it that way.

I got factory chrome tube steps for my '02 SuperDuty. Plenty rugged and they bolted right up. My only complaint is that the front step pads should really be about 6" back from where they are. I end up stepping on the chrome more than the pad to get into the truck (mine's lifted with big tires)
