Cabin Air Filter 98 F150

Where is the cabin air filter on my 98 F150 xtra cab 2wd? The Haynes manual doesn't even mention the filter. The Napa Filter book says it's under the glove box, but that doesn't tell me a whole lot. I messed around with the thing for an hour and I can't seem to figure it out... Any help??? Later... Grant Speed Kills...Drive a Honda, live forever...

I found two casing screws underneath, they seemed to be bolted to absolutly nothing., just two threaded holes on the casing. The only other thing that I can think of is that you have to remove the whole glovebox and the plastic piece behind it. It seems like there should be an easy way to do this. I mean, Hell, Jiffy Lube changes these things all day long, I just don't want to pay them to do what should be an easy job for me. Later... Grant Speed Kills...Drive a Honda, live forever...

The 98 F150 doesn't come with a filter. The filter is a separate kit that you can buy from the dealer. It goes on the inside of the vehicle, in the case, near the blower.
