Got rear-ended yesterday...

I got completely pasted in my F350 by a Honda Odyssey minivan yesterday morning. I stopped for traffic in front of me, the other guy didn't. He hit me so hard, he pushed me UPhill into a Honda Civic and then another 10-15 feet. The Civic rolled about 30 more feet up the hill before it stopped. The Odyssey is toast.. Hood folded back over the windshield, all kinds of fluids all over the road, radiator tacoed with a trailer hitch sized hole in the middle of it.. Good thing it had airbags..

The Civic just had a mangled trunk lid. Didn't even break the taillights.

My truck is going to need a bumper, all the bracketry and pads, the wiring harness for the trailer lights and a trailer hitch. Frame rails are a little tweaked but shouldn't be too bad to get 'em straightened. Virtually no sheetmetal damage other than 2 scratches from the bumper folding under. Front end damage was light. My Warn light bar got tweaked a bit - lights didn't even get a scratch- and the bumper has a ding. Some of the plastic has some scuff marks on it as well.

So, now that I need a new bumper, I'd like to pick up one of the "smoothie" bumpers.. I visited a few of the shops locally, but nobody carries them.. Anyone got any good online shops to visit to check 'em out? I'm sure a smoothie bumper will probably be cheaper than the OEM unit...

Thx!

Took a look there but didn't find any rear bumpers. Rear bumper guards, yes, but no rear bumpers. Thx for the link anyways..

I believe you're looking for what is called a "roll pan". Check JC Whitney.

Nope. Roll pan is just a piece of sheet metal to pretty up the ass end of the truck. I need a bumper. BIG difference there.

you want a roll pan after you see what the bumper saved you from???????

I would be looking for a new Ranch Hand bumper for the next time someone forgets the brakes....better yet, get a new heavy duty rear bumper and a new front bumper/grillguard.

Tanking off parts that just saved you from heavy body damage is not my idea of improvement.

err, he said he DIDN'T want a roll pan, but a smoothie bumper and new hitch.

I don't know if maybe Smittybilt or Ox or someone like that makes them, but you might do a web search and find them.

My bad. :-( Mea Culpa

Anyway, JC Whitney does have replacement bumpers listed. Dunno if they come in the "Smoothie" configuration you're looking for.

WTF are you talking about? I'm pretty sure I distinctly said I wasn't looking for a roll pan.

Ya think??

Not following the thread properly is not my idea of paying attention..
