You weren't smart enough to make a second set of keys, and then locked your only set in your truck, and it should be opened by the dealer for free, ha ha ha ha , thanks for a great laugh.

Reminds me of a true story about my blonde neice. She locked her keys in her car and called a locksmith. The guys shows up, and unzipped her top. It was a Jeep.

I'd call a locksmith and get a set of keys made and hid.

Listening to the police radio the local cops seem to get a lot of calls to help people unlock their cars.

Very good idea

Very bad idea. there is no place you can hide a set of keys that some car theif hasnt already thought of. Stick a door key in your wallet, unless your one of the not so smart that always leave your wallet in the center console.

Maybe, but I always use a magnet box to hold the truck key. It's hid pretty good, but maybe a determined thief could find it, IF he wasn't stealing a more desireable car............I also have one for my house at home. Both have save my butt a few times.......

I hid one of those magnetic key boxes in the front bumper bar of my 87 Mustang. First time I needed it, was gone. The bumper bar was some kind of composite:) So I tied a key under the car with wire.

Dont feel lonely. I had a young lady come in to my shop some years back and ask if we could unlock her truck for her. I grabbed the Slim Jim set and headed out into the parking lot with her. On the way I suggested that she should make a spare key to avoid another such incident. She replied that she had a spare key. What was I doing then? Well, she replied, she had one spare in a magnetic holder but when she went to use it, just like yours it was gone. So ... she had another spare made and to ensure that it didn't fall off, she had wired it to one of the heater hoses in the engine compartment. Of course, she hadn't considered the fact that the hood was latch was inside the locked truck and the key was inaccessible... I unlocked her door and sent her on her way, laughing all the way back into the shop... Some days are diamonds, some days are stones....To coin a phrase.

I got an extra key made at hardware store but it does not have the chip in it so it won't start the truck. I sanded the blade of the key to about half it's original thickness and then cut the head of the key off. It's a little awkward to hold on to but it still works fine to unlock the door. I put this tiny key in my wallet where it resides without taking up much room it case I forget my keys in the truck one day.

Since I never go out of the house without my wallet, I always have a spare. It's almost foolproof. Unless of course, I accidentally take my pants off, leave them in the truck, jump out in my underwear and lock the door. But how often does that happen?

At one time my Ford dealer was offering plastic keys that appeared to be made from credit card material with a key in the center. The key could be bent outward enough to be used in the lock, then placed back in your wallet.

I like that idea. I might try making a key out of an old card. I travel quite a lot and I have been asked a few times about the little key in my wallet when it goes through the scope at security. It still made it through a day or two after that big deal in Britain when all the new restrictions with liquids came into effect but it was a domestic flight. It seems that security gets tighter every time I fly lately.

Plus, a thin plastic card would take up even less room in the wallet.

Stephen N.--->presumably to leave more room for money, lol...

Call the Auto Club. They will open the doors for you in just a matter of minutes.

If you refuse to pay for opening the doors, then prepare yourself to walk.

It reminds me of the Polock that locked his keys in the car. It took 2.5 hours to get his family out ...
