Max A/C question

I have just purchased a new 2004 F150 Lariat and I'm having problems with the A/C. I can select Max A/C but after about 15 minutes the truck automatically switches it back to outside air. How can I stop this, any suggestions.

Read your owners manual, it's designed to work this way.

If max AC is as it used to be, it simply means that the AC is recalculating the inside air. After awhile, you will find yourself sweating even though the AC is on full blast. I always felt that car manufacturers have done a poor job of describing this function. As I understand it, if your car is really hot, the best way to cool it is to crack a window a bit and run max AC for a few minutes. Then, switch it to outside air. My Toyota Avalon does this automatically as Michael indicated the new Fords do. jor
