Need diagnostic help with my Ranger

1992 Ford Ranger, 4.0L engine, 166K miles

These are the OBD I codes: 24, 57, 58, 73

Symptoms: Engine occasionally cuts out while driving

I have a book that tells what the codes mean but it lists multiple possibilities for each code. I need some help narrowing this down.

Code 24

- Intake Air Charge Temperature (ACT, IAT) sensor or Vane Air Temperature (VAT) sensor out of range

- Coil #1 primary circuit failure

Code 57:

-(Cars ONLY): Octane adjust circuit grounded

-(Cars ONLY): AXOD Neutral Pressure Switch circuit fault, circuit open

Code 58:

-(Cars ONLY): Vane air control circuit fault; circuit open

-(Trucks ONLY): Idle tracking switch circuit fault

Code 73:

- (Cars ONLY): Insufficient throttle position change

- (Cars ONLY): Throttle Position Sensor fault / insufficient range

- (Trucks ONLY): Insufficient Throttle Position change during Dynamic Response Test

I would check your IAC valve and make sure its not sticking or going bad.

I would check your TPS and see if you can read a change it through full motion of the pedal. I am thinkin you have a burnt spot in you tps that is causing this code and possible cutting out of your engine.
