One, STOP YELLING. YOU HAVE A CAPLOCK KEY, use it.

You have a short. Fix it.

It is not clear that the lights ever worked, and now do not work, or if the bed is new and the lights don't work since installing the bed.

If you installed a switch, and the lights never worked, then you installed it wrong. You included a relay, I hope, that is fused, I hope, but connected the wires improperly.

Put a jumper wire from the battery with an in line fuse holder and install the proper fuse. Cost- under $5.00. The next time you put in a shunt you may burn the rig to the ground. You were lucky it melted the socket in the fuse box without setting in on fire the 1st time.

Blew a fuse because of a short, installed a shunt without fixing the short, and now wonders why the fusebox melted? Not much of a lineman if you ask me.

CowBoy linemen are apparently different from the rest of us... I'm an EE by training, and I had to read his post three times to figure out what he was saying.

I had to read YOUR post to figure out what he was saying.

He had a short and wired around it, leaving the short in place? That's insane! Unless he knew where the short was, and disconnected both ends before connecting his work-around, all he did was reroute the short through a new wire.

I'm glad the linemen around here are city slickers, that's all I can say...
