Re: Replacing a lost transponder key

Buy the key on ebay and pay the dealer to cut it for a couple bucks. They use a proper tool to do it not the grinder method you find at the mall. Your owner's manual may have the programming procedure but the dealer should be able to tell you how to do it. If not, I've seen the info posted on some of the many Ford truck forums on the web.

The key is about $30.00 You or anyone can program the new key.

  1. Take ( working ) KEY 1, insert and turn ignition on then off.

  1. Take ( working ) Key 2, insert and turn ign. on then off.

  2. Take NEW Key , insert and turn ign. on. Wait untill buzzer or lights flash. Bingo, it is programed.

Only ONE working key? Go to Dealer who has Capability ( the right computer ) . Pay to have your security code reset ( and extra Keys Made ). There is no other way.
