temp gauge ideas??

My '82 F-100's temp gauge doesn't work, and it's the gauge itself - any ideas on a cheap solution? Thinking of getting an aftemarket gauge and wiring it in...is this difficult? It's cold now, but summers can be incredible hot in GA...I have an '86 300 six in the truck...thanks Paul

No it isn't difficult, but it can be messy if you don't drain the cooling system first. The gauge will come with instructions and parts. Probably the most difficult part of the installation is wiring the light to come on with the instrument lighting. Get a good gauge and while you are 'in the mood', get an oil-pressure gauge too!
