trouble codes from EEC-V computer

Does anybody know how to retrieve the trouble codes from an EEC-V computer without the overpriced codereader?

a real scan tool works very well

ifr you don't want to shell out for one, you have no business trying to 'read codes'

Take it to an auto parts place, like Autozone. They will probably let you borrow a scan tool to check the codes. I bought my scan tool for around $99.

It you have a brake problem, a normal scan tool will not read it, and the auto parts places don't normally carry one.

Thank you. Guess Ford got tired of people accessing the codes without bringing the vehilcle into the dealership, at $99 a pop.
