'01 Montana power sliding door won't close! - HELP!!!

I've got a '01 Pontiac Montana with 34K miles on it (2K until my factory bumper to bumper expires) and I am having a problem with the power door behind the drivers seat. The problem is that the door will ALWAYS open but will intermittently not latch close and will immediately re-open. It appears that outside temperature may play a part. The hotter the outside temperature, the more likely it is to not latch close (hot parking lots, etc.). I have brought it to the dealer and they cleaned the contacts and said "this happens all the time and this will fix it" and the next day it did the same thing. I'm getting mighty concerned as my factory warranty is about to expire.

The door will latch if one helps to push it close while it is closing just before it would latch. I have checked the tracks and lubed them without avail. I suggested to the service manager that it appears that the motor might need to be adjusted to increase the force just before it closes. I suggested that might there be a system that varies the force of shutting the door as it nears the latch for safety? He claimed that there was "no such system." He claims there is only a "module and a motor." I have very little confidence the dealer can fix this problem let alone understand the problem.

HELP, my warranty is about to expire!!!!
