'01 Monte Carlo ABS light on

Dealer said it had something to do with the left rear wheel sensor....and it would cost close to $1,100.00 to replace the sensor. Has something to do
with being part of the spindle and or hub? This sounds way expensive. Comments please. 3.5 years old and 57,000 miles on vehicle. PS: Iam new to this group. wth

Sounds about right from a dealer. It's an easy enough job and should be substantially cheaper at another garage using an aftermarket wheel bearing instead of OEM. Also the lower shop rate should help.

It's a wheel bearing assembly that has an integrated wheel speed sensor. Try this link: http://tinyurl.com/6unmz
