1997 Buick Lesabre Engine Light comes on

Hi

I just purchased a 1997 buick lesabre with 103,000 miles on it. I drove it a hundred miles and stoped to get something eat, while waiting at the drive in I began pumping the breaks and noticed the sound of air while pumping the breaks. Suddenly the check engine light came on. The Car drives fine no overheating or anything, so what's the problem? How do I get the light to go off, should I get paronoid that I got a lemon??

If you hear air when pumping the brakes, you may have a leak in the power booster. Possibly the big rubber hose leading to it is broken or partly disconnected.

The car is 8 years old and anything can happen. Have a shop check for codes if the SES light remains on. Might just be something minor.

Good Luck.
