93 Grand Prix Eterior Door Trim Removal

Any one know how to remove the exterior door fiber glass trim? I have a rusting problem right above it and I need to see how much rust damage is behind it. Any links or insight would be appreciated!

SOme auto use this set up.

At the front and rear edge of the doors there may be 2-3 screws going through the door into the body molding side panels.

After the screws are removed you may need to lift up on the panel from the bottom. Lifting it up you should feel the spring tension of the lower part of the clips tightening up. Tilt the panel out at the top once the upper portion clear the upper spring clips.

The molding clips are plastic and there is a chance some make break off. You can always get new ones if needed.

There may be between 5 to 8 clips per door.

Typically rust forms around the studs the clips connect to. Sometimes the panels rub the paint off from vibraition & rust forms.

Removal of the molding clips generally involves sliding the lower portion one way to release it from the stud , then lift up to release from the upper stud.

Easy to figure out by looking at them, the holes are probably slotted.

Good Luck
