AIG Good for GM - Maybe Not

Though the contrast between autoworkers and Wall Street sharks with multi-million dollar bonuses might seem good for GM in further attempts to get bailout money, there is something else going on: The AIG debacle has pissed off people about bailouts in general more than ever before. The pols might react to public outrage generated by AIG bonuses and clamp down on ALL further bailout money. Ironically, if the "socialism for business" argument allows GM to fail, further millions will be jobless - and without insurance. As more and more people become homeless, the public outcry for national health care and welfare in food and housing will increase. I see some difficult choices ahead. And the usual hue and cry about everything from expected quarters.
