August GM Numbers

Pretty obvious, GM is going to need more debt-corruption tax money.

Ford looked like Detroits only hope.... probably because they didn't saddly non-auto workers for paying for corrupt GM auto screwups.

One interesting stat I noticed was the total sales of Pontiac, which GM is dropping, was more than DOUBLE than that of Buick and Cadilac COMBINED!

Of course, Obama Motors deemed that Pontiac was not wanted by consumers, nor needed by GM.

Heaven forbid if the G8, or Solstice continued to fill a market demand, the public might next want a Firebird, and maybe scorn a sardine can for transportation.

Most likely GM did a huge price drop to move them. No one wants a brand no longer in production. And you likey can get the save vehicle with a Chev label. I would not read too much into Pontiac sales, and going up from such a low number isn't that good.

You make no sense at all with this reply. If "no one" wants to buy a vehicle no longer in production, then how in the hell have twice as many "no ones" buy Pontiacs than Buicks and Cadillacs combined?

Go back to last year, before GM announced they were dropping Ponitac. Even back then they sold more than twice as many vehicles as Buick did, and while I don't know the exact numbers, can feel confident to say they did likewise to Cadillac.

And finally, a newsflash for you. GM, along with other auto makers have been giving "huge price drops" for over a year. Ponitac is only one brand that has been discounted. Bought my G8 last year BECAUSE of the discount, and am damned glad I did. It just seems stupid to me that a company would discard its third-highest selling unit, which CONTINUES to be their third-highest seller even AFTER the announcement has been made to DROP THE PRODUCT!!!!!

No, no, no. Don't you get it JR? The entire Domestic auto industry is just a HUGE conspiracy designed to take money from Canuck while he is sleeping. No one buys GM's, or Chryslers (but, people buy Fords...and that's only because Canuck owns one (making him a hypocrite), and says people can). And do you honestly think anyone likes GM vehicles? Of course not. Just because they are the #1 selling car company in America does not mean people like them.

Pontiac was like the Jap imports, they had plenty of 2009s on hand to sell in the CARS runoff.

GM and Ford did not have the hundreds of thousands of unsold 2009s and their

2010s are not yet up to full production. Just look at how few Fords are on dealer lots, compared to import dealers lots
