Bid for the Pontiac name

Heard on the local news that Jim Waldron, a Pontiac dealer in Davison, Michigan, and a group of backers put in a bid to purchase the Pontiac name. If successful, they plan to look into manufacturing cars with that name.

It would be great if they could turn Pontiac into a pure performance division. Perhaps GM could throw the Trans Am name in too. It doesn't matter how bad the economy is, rich people still want cars.

Maybe they could convert it into a high level sports or GT car....avoiding, for sure, some of the hazards that DeLorean and others stepped into.
