Maybe in protest for NA corrupt auto using the tax system to screw people? Hey, why should a San Francisco person do without government services, get more government debt and pay more taxes for UAW/Detroit greed?

"San Francisco=92s tight streets, high parking rates and expensive gasoline don=92t lend themselves well to the kind of large vehicles that make up the bulk of sales for the Big Three, so the appeal of smaller imports is not surprising. Still, the departure of the American brands comes at a time when Ford, GM and Chrysler are in the process of reinventing themselves with more of the compact, fuel-efficient offerings that are popular in dense urban centers. California is the nation=92s largest market for automobiles, and San Francisco is its fourth largest city, with a population of over

800,000 residents."

California is usually ahead of the rest of the US so this may show what is about to happen slowly all over the US.

This kind of trend has been in process in most of the rest of the world for many years.
