engine stands

hi, i can get a 750# engine stand for $30. is that worth the price should i go for a "bigger" stand? the biggest motor i can see ever using it with
would be ~350. currently it would be for a miata 1.8. thanks, peter

As long as it is sturdy I would say to go for it. Your little 1.8 isn't going to stress any engine stand and a small block 350 is also well under 750 lbs.

Bought a Harbor Freight unit. ITEM 32916-4VGA Rated at 1000 pounds. With a 460 Ford on it, it was at its limit. Had to put a jack stand under the balancer to keep it from bending.

Get one with TWO wheels on the narrow end, they are much easier to push around without your motor trying to tip over.
