Being a GM employee.. i Agree.. that GM is loosing money.
But, that is only in North America region, where everyone is suffering at present.
Worldwide GM has its presence in 198 countries, with manufacturing in at 33 Locations. 3 Other regions, Latin America (LAAM), Europe & Asia Passific (AP) are making profit, and there is a large demand GM is fulfilling in Emerging Markets. So the news of Bankrupcy of GM is miles away from the reality.
GM is coming up with Small cars in US, as per the new trend in USA, More global programs which will commonise the products across the world & Will help in achieving the best price, Although, as always, GM is very late in putting first step in this direction.. but then its the morning from when you wake up..
GM build and import its small cars from Korea in USA, but its the way one does the business for profit, US is costly in labour cost and overheads. But yes, one should look into opportunities of manufacturing mini's in US as well.
