The 1600cc 4AFE engine will locate the EGR next to the intake runner for #1
cylinder, facing the passenger compartment (if it has an EGR). The
passageway feeding the EGR is partly integrated into the intake manifold
with the remainder being a passageway through the cylinder head itself to #1
exhaust. No external delivery plumbing. Timing for an EGR fitted model is
10°BTDC with the E1 and T1 terminals in the diagnostics access connector
jumpered. There should be a tune-up specifications sticker on the underside
of the hood or elsewhere in the engine compartment. Do not try to set the
timing without the E1/T1 jumpered.
